How your emails are sent (your domain, our domain, or your mailbox)

Choose between sending from Storage Reservations, from your own domain (SPF/DKIM/DMARC), or through your own SMTP mailbox.

Under Communications → Email sending pick one of three modes:

1. Send from Storage Reservations (default, no setup). Emails come from our sending domain with your facility name as the sender, and replies go to your facility email (or the Reply-To address you set).
2. Send from your own domain, e.g. office@yourstorage.com. You publish three kinds of DNS records:
- SPF (TXT on your domain). Lists who may send for you. Add our include to your existing record; a domain can only have one SPF record.
- DKIM (TXT or CNAME on selector._domainkey), a signing key so inboxes can verify the message. We give you the exact value.
- DMARC (TXT on _dmarc). Start with v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:dmarc@yourstorage.com.
Click Verify DNS to see each record green/red. Until everything verifies, mail goes out using mode 1.
3. Send through your own mailbox (SMTP). Your IONOS, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or other mailbox. Enter the SMTP details under Email & SMS; the password is stored encrypted. Sent mail appears to come straight from your mailbox.

Test email queues a message to you. If outbound email is switched off for the platform, it waits in the outbox and nothing is sent.

## Letters and certified mail
Physical mail (lien notices, certified letters) through a print-and-mail service is coming. You can record your preferred service now.
