Warehouse & flex space: spaces, pallets and receiving requests
Set up warehouse areas and pallet positions, handling fees, receiving and pull requests, and billing.
1. Choose your business type
In Settings → Business type pick *Warehouse / flex space*. Your menu gets a Warehouse hub (Spaces, Receiving & pulls, Space types & pricing, maintenance and condition reports) instead of the site map. You can switch back any time.
On the same page, Warehouse operations & handling fees sets your dock doors, receiving / dock hours, security, insurance note, default minimum term, whether short-term or seasonal rentals are welcome, and default fees for receiving, pulls, per-pallet handling, pick & pack, forklift time and after-hours access. Fees start at $0 until you set them.
2. Space types and spaces
- Space types & prices: for example *Pallet position* at a monthly price per pallet, or *1,000 sq ft flex suite*. Each type is a normal size in your price list, so promotions, the website and online rentals work as usual.
- Add spaces: one space (label such as SUITE-A) or a batch (P-1 to P-40). Each space records its kind (floor area, pallet positions, bay / dock, flex office, outdoor yard), zone or aisle, square feet or pallet positions, clear height, dock and drive-in doors, climate, food-grade, hazmat permitted, short-term OK and a minimum term.
- Open a space to edit it, see its tenant and requests, or Lease this space (the normal move-in screen). Monthly rent bills like any other rental.
3. Receiving, pull and handling requests
A request is one job: receiving (inbound delivery), pull (outbound), pick & pack, forklift / handling, cross-dock, inventory count, after-hours access or other. Each has a date and time window, pallets and cartons, PO / BOL reference, carrier, dock, who handled it, notes for the tenant, staff notes and a fee (pre-filled from your defaults when left blank).
- Start, then Mark completed: the fee is invoiced to the tenant automatically (tick *Don't bill* to skip), or use Invoice now.
- Tenants can send requests from their portal. They arrive as *Requested* with a staff notification and a badge in the menu; confirm the time and dock.
4. Getting found
Your listing appears for Warehouse & pallet space in marketplace search and on the warehouse pages. Renters can request a warehouse quote by square feet or pallets, duration, goods type and handling needs. Pick the Warehouse / flex space website template in Settings → Website template.
